Materiality 02
Experiment to demonstrate Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in a regional urban community

Muroran Institute of Technology

Elderly people living in regional cities have limited transportation options so they tend to go out less often. A new initiative to support regional transportation is needed because the public transportation sector is clearly facing issues associated with labor shortages and aging drivers. Made possible by IoT, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) provides an improved transportation service that makes effective use of existing public transportation. MaaS strategies for regional urban communities will be examined to provide solutions to the problems facing the relevant regional cities.
